B' e foillsichear, sgrìobhadair agus deasaiche a bh' ann an Iain MacCoinnich (Beurla: John MacKenzie) (1806–1848).

Rugadh e ann an Geàrrloch. Rinn e obair mar shaor, maor nam fiachan agus cunntasair. Fhuair e obair an uair sin ann an Dùn Eideann leis an fhoillsichear MacLachlan & Stewart.[1]

Dh'fhoillsich e cruinneachaidhean bàrdachd. Ann an 1841, rinn e cruinneachaidh e fhèin leis an ainm Sàr-Obair nam Bàrd Gàelach no 'sa Bheurla The Beauties of Gaelic Poetry. Bha an leabhar gu math soirbheachail agus thug e cliù mhòr do MhacCoinnich.

Sgrìobh e pìosan cuideachd ann an Cuairtear nan Gleann.

Chaochail e an Inbhir Iùbh ann an 1848.
