The low building on the right in Faidhle:Eilean MoLaise 10A192.jpg is the former generator room powering the lighthouses and cottages on Holy Isle. Power now reaches the island by underwater cable from Arran. The generator room is now a Buddhist prayer room. The original doors and lintel have been carved with Buddhist designs. How do we know the doors are original? The rather unusual door latch (see close-up) bears the letters NL standing for Commissioners of Northern Lights.
