English: Visitation. Visitation is a sculpture of the Virgin Mary by Sir Jacob Epstein. It is one of several sculptures in the area around Glenkiln reservoir. They were bought and placed there between 1951 and 1976 by Sir William Keswick, the owner of the Glenkiln estate, thus realising his lifelong vision of creating the world's first collection of sculpture in a natural setting. The sculptures include works by Henry Moore, Jacob Epstein and Auguste Rodin. |
