Seal Island Lighthouse Museum (I have never seen it open), Barrington, NS

You can climb to the 1907 iron lantern which sits atop a replica of the original 1831 lighthouse on Seal Island. Inside the lantern visitors get a lightkeeper's view of the jewel-like second order Fresnel lens which was the lens from the original lighthouse. The museum contains displays about the area's lightkeeping families, and the shipwrecks that made Seal Island a graveyard in the days of wooden sailing ships. You get an excellent view of the seacoast from the top of the lighthouse.
